Ceramical
My senior collection, Ceramical, blends the timeless elegance of circles with the artistry of ceramics. Inspired by everyday Greek ceramics from Kozani, the village my grandparents migrated from in northern Greece, I explored the shapes and silhouettes of these vessels. The circle emerged as a central motif, driving my experimentation with form. The collection, entirely black, emphasizes these shapes, while nodding to my time growing up in Melbourne, Australia, and the profound influence Greek culture has had on my identity. This fusion of classical heritage and contemporary design celebrates the enduring beauty of Greece, capturing the essence of The Mighty Aphrodite.

Inspiration and INFLUENCE
My inspiration began with a visit to the museum in Krokos, just 30 minutes outside the village where my grandparents migrated from before coming to Australia. The Byzantine artifacts, almost like jewelry and chains, were fascinating, and the shapes were incredibly organic and beautiful.
After taking a ceramics class the semester before, I was more attuned to the details, especially on the tops and handles, which were stunning. This experience, along with my own ceramics from the class, really sparked something in me.
I have memories of my great-grandmother hemming my dress for school and my grandmother sewing my ripped jeans back together (even though they originally came with rips in them). I used to wear a matching sunflower set made by my mother when she was growing up. But it wasn’t until I began college and switched majors that I truly began sewing. The power of clothing really blossomed for me here in Syracuse.
This collection is a tribute to everything my family has done for me, enabling me to be here and have the opportunity to pursue fashion. That’s why I’ve pushed myself to create clothing that is abstract and a little wild, having fun while challenging the boundaries of how we shape the body.
